New Season Regatta
21-22 November 2009 - ACT Dinghy Championships,
YMSC, Lake Burley Griffin
Venue: YMCA Sailing Club, Yarralumla Bay, ACT
Eight races over Saturday and Sunday - all sailed
Great to see the Sharpies from Lake Illawarra make their
way up to the Capital for the weekend. From extremely light air in the
morning on Saturday to a full blown 22knots gusting up to 35 by Sunday
afternoon, this was a weekend to test the full range of sailing skills.
Thanks to Paul Fitzwarren, Race Officer, for getting in the full compliment
of 8 races over the weekend.
Final results - 8 races, 6 to count:
Michael Forster took out the series in Smoke (N883) with
7 points, dropping a 5th and 2nd from the first day.
Todd Curry fought hard, with Mr Freeze (N885) often in
the lead but not often enough at the end - 11 points for the series,
dropping a 4th from the first race and a dead heat 2nd from seventh
race.
Ian Richardson brough Mainiac (N902) in third, with 16.5
points, Dean Souter and Rocket Fuels (N812) came in fourth. None of
the other Sharpies sailed both days, but it was good to see John Fisher
bring Mojo (WA918) in first in the third race on Saturday.

Long Weekend
Pack your sleeping gear and your esky, put in a tent if
you must or stay up the road at beautiful Tathra - this is one of the
best weekends of the season. Flat water salt water estuary sailing at
its best!
April 2010 - Bateman's Bay
- Final Round of NSW State Titles
Round 3 of the NSW State Titles is sailed on
Bateman's Bay with heats from the Bateman's Bay Anzac Weekend Regatta
finishing off the series.
The Bateman's Bay Anzac Weekend Regatta attracts a number
of boats for the last sail for the season. The regatta is hosted by
the Bateman's
Bay Sailing Club. We all look forward to this regatta but never
to the 5 months of not sailing.
